Welcome to the Meridian Church of God Seventh Day! We are a Christ-centered, Biblically-based church of God. We are located in Meridian, Idaho, which is less than 10 miles west of the capital city of Boise. We invite you to take advantage of this web site and get to know us a little.

While here you can take advantage of a daily Bible study, listen to last week's sermon, submit and read prayer requests, ask questions or read answers, or just get to know us.

As you come into our church, one of the first things we hope you will notice (after our zeal for Jesus!) is our love for one another. We are a church built on relationships. Obviously, the first relationship we need to have will always be our relationship with God, through His Son Jesus Christ. In the First Letter of John the Apostle says "and this commandment we have from Him, that the one who loves God should love his brother also." (1 John 4:21 NASB). Our relationship with each other is one based on mutual love, respect, and understanding. Here in our church family, you will find a place to belong.

As a Christian, you have a place in God's Eternal plan. Your relationship with God, through His Son Jesus Christ, is one that provides your life with purpose and meaning. Not because we are perfect or are worthy, but because God loves us in spite of the fact that we "have all sinned and fallen short of the glory of God." For God gave us His only Son, "that whoever believes in Him, shall not perish but have eternal life." He did that for all who are willing to accept His gift, because we matter to Him. You are important to God, and you are important to us! You will find your fellowship with us meaningful and fulfilling.

Here at the Church of God, we believe there is more to life than the everyday hum-drum. God exists and is present in all aspects of our life. The many answered prayers, miracles, and blessings in His children's lives proclaim His greatness and glory.

Mission Statement:

As a church, we will promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ to our community and to the world. We will pursue building Godly families, raised on Christian principles, and growing in the faith. We will remember God's love for us and our love for Him, that Christ died for our sins out of His love for us, and that all we do should be motivated by that love.

Our Church History

The local Meridian church was founded in 1923 by Elder A.H. Stith, after he had been holding Bible studies in his home. The congregation met in a local school until a church was built in 1929. During the 1930s, a group left our church and formed the Nampa Church of God (Seventh Day), which is still there today.

The church continued to grow throughout the years and plans for a new church were started in the 1960s. In 1968 the work began in our existing church, which was first used for the Lord's Supper Service in the Spring of 1970.

During the 1990s, we had another group leave to form a new church. We also celebrated 75 years during this time.

Our current pastor, Shawn Ragan, began ministering in the church in September of 2000. We are excited about what the future holds for us.

As with any church, we have had our ups and downs, but our faith in God has never wavered and our love for one another continues to thrive.
